Terry Baumgartner
Getting out of the service with an addiction was not uncommon in 1970. Fortunately for Terry, his addiction was to photography. He’d been stationed in Japan which was at the time starting to make some of the best cameras available. In the PX those cameras were available at very reasonable prices. Terry got hooked. Upon his return to the states, he enrolled in the local university and took classes in photography. Beginning with black & white he learned about the 10 gradients between the two. That added depth to his work. Eventually he had to get a job that would support his habit. He found such a position with the post office. Indoor work, no heavy lifting, it was the American dream. Retired now, he is free to spend his time on his passion. Sheliah Halderman "Creating pictures has been a constant joy to me for as long as I can remember." When Sheliah Halderman retired from teaching, she moved to the beautiful state of Arkansas.
Being retired has given her much more time to pursue her first love, art. She has taken many workshops from well-known artists as well as art classes from National Park Community College. She started her art career primarily in oils but has expanded into watercolors, pastel, and Prismacolor. She prefers to create from her own photos. More of Sheliah’s work can be seen on her website - art-by-sheliah.com |
