Judy Kizer’s Biography

Judy Kizer was the first place recipient of the 2009 Traditional Arts Guild Juried Show for her pastel painting of Garvan Gardens.   Judy graduated with an educational degree at Indiana University and received her masters at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.  She was an educator for 30 years and has recently retired in Hot Springs. 


Judy works mainly in pastel and watercolor.  She continues her education in art at the National Park Community College, with Thad Flenniken and Ovita Goolsby, and has attended numerous workshops by nationally known artists including Richard Stephens, Richard McKinley, Maggie Price, Tom Lynch, Denise Horne-Kaplan, Terry Madden, Mike Mahon and Greg Biolchini. She is a member of the Arkansas Pastel Society, Hot Springs Fine Art Center and the Traditional Arts Guild.  Judy is represented at the Artist’s Workshop Gallery and the Villa in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
